Peter W. Monge, FACHE

As president of MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, Peter Monge is responsible for the hospital, the MGH Health Foundation, and MedStar Montgomery Diversified Services. MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is a member of MedStar Health, a $4 billion not-for-profit health system in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. region.

Before joining MedStar Montgomery in 1990, Mr. Monge was chief executive officer of DuBois Regional Medical Center, a 221-bed hospital in DuBois, Pennsylvania. Prior to that he was associate administrator at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

During his tenure at DuBois he oversaw the merger of DuBois Hospital with Maple Avenue Hospital, a 109-bed hospital, where Mr. Monge was the administrator from 1982 to 1985. Mr. Monge earned a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1975, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, which he earned at Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania in 1973.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Monge served on the Executive Committee and was Chairman of the Clinical & Quality Council of the Maryland Hospital Association for four years. He also served as the Maryland delegate to American Hospital Association's Regional Policy Board 3. In addition, he is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery. He presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce as a Board Member.
