MedStar Montgomery Implements Flu Season Visitor Policy

January 22, 2018

OLNEY, Md.—As the flu has become an epidemic across the country this season, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is joining other Montgomery County hospitals in implementing a flu season visitor policy.

In an effort to help prevent the spread of the flu in the community, MedStar Montgomery asks that all potential visitors adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Refrain from entering the hospital if exhibiting symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or muscle aches.
  • Refrain from bringing visitors ages 12 years and younger to the hospital, except to visit family members in end-of-life circumstances.
  • Wear a mask. Masks will be available for any visitor experiencing flu-like symptoms that must enter the hospital.

Thank you for your cooperation. For more information on the flu or on MedStar Montgomery’s flu season visitor policy, please call 301-774-8882.
