Why Choose MedStar Montgomery Medical Center Emergency Services

When you or a loved one experiences a medical emergency, the MedStar Montgomery Medical Center Emergency Department (ED) is close at hand to provide fast emergent-urgent or non-urgent care. Our physicians and nurses are experts in the rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses.

We follow a team care model, with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and ED technicians working together to comprehensively care for groups of patients. Often, our care team initiates support through communication with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel before a patient arrives. Maintaining contact with incoming ambulances enables us to be fully prepared for patient arrivals. Board certified emergency physicians and pediatricians with support from specially trained physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) staff our ED.We take great pride in providing our patients with the best possible medical care.

MedStar Montgomery has received the Delmarva Foundation's Excellence Award for Quality for the past five consecutive years, and we are very proud of this distinction. Our comprehensive approach has earned us certification as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. We also received full Heart Failure Accreditation status by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.
