Dr. Jacob Wheeler Bird Legacy Society

Dr. Jacob Wheeler Bird founded Montgomery County General Hospital in 1918 — the first hospital in Montgomery County. Practicing medicine in the Olney area for 50 years, Dr. Bird encouraged the growth of a community hospital and ensured access to healthcare for the next generations. He was an avid volunteer in social and community work, a generous philanthropist dedicated to serving his neighbors.

The Dr. Jacob Wheeler Bird Society acknowledges those benefactors who have included MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in their estate plan or other planned gift arrangement.
